South Africa Checklist for Tourist Visa

Type - 1 Month TOURIST

Documents required

1. Original Passport with at least 6 months validity and minimum 3 blank pages + all old passports if any
2. Visa Application form
3. Personal Covering letter
4. 2 recent colour photographs with white background (Not more than 6 months old, 3.5 X4.5cm,)
5. Original updated Bank statement of last 6 months
6. Confirmed return flight tickets
7. Hotel reservation
8. Day wise itinerary / travel plan covering your stay in South Africa
9. Vaccination certificate; (yellow fever) if applicant will travel through or stay in yellow fever belt.

Kindly note: The Govt is very strict on the photograph requirement; please ensure that your photos are as per the specifications.

Supporting documents required

If Employed Original Leave sanctioned certificate with company seal and signature and Last 3 months salary slip.

If Self Employed Business Registration License / MOA / Partnership deed, Company’s updated bank statement of last 6 months and Company’s IT returns for last 3 years.

If Retired Proof of retirement like pension book, statement etc.

If Student School / College / Institute ID Card and Bonafide certificate.

If Minor Birth Certificate, No Objection Certificate from the parents / non-accompanying parent on Rs 100/- stamp paper and ID proof of parent like passport or PAN card.

If Visiting friend or relative Invitation letter, Inviter’s ID proof like Passport or Resident Permit and Address proof like any Electricity bill, any Utility bill etc.

If Sponsored Sponsorship letter, Sponsor’s national ID proof like Passport, PAN card or Resident permit, Updated bank statement of last 6 months and Income tax returns of last 3 years

For Business Visa Invitation letter from host Company stating purpose of trip, business details and Covering letter from Indian company on company letterhead.

South Africa - Family Visit – By Invitation
 

1. Passport, (valid for at least 30 days after the intended stay/departure date from South Africa; at least Two unused/blank visa pages) 

2. Fully completed visa application form – 11 (DHA-84) – must be completed in black ink and block letters. 

3. Application form-11 (DHA-84) must be signed by the applicant and signature should match the signature on the passport. 

4. Proof of funds (Last 03 month’s bank statement signed and stamped by the bank with a balance South African Currency R 3000 or equivalent in INR for Delhi and Mumbai) Required original Indian bank statement on bank letterhead with stamp and signature and no Passbook, e-statements, Net banking copies will be accepted 

5. The Applicant needs to provide bank statement of the person who will bear the expenses of the traveller and the covering / invitation letter should clearly mention the same or if bank statement is from India then Indian Bank stamp & signature on all pages would be required. 

6. Letter of invitation from the South African hosts stating the name, passport number of the applicant as well as purpose and duration of visit (two-way travel date with should be 90 days or less). The letter must have the physical address, as well as contact details of the host and host’s/authorized signature’s name, designation and signature; and Invitation letter attested by commissioner of OATHS or South African Police with valid date: dates valid for 90 days. 

7. Residence Proof of host from South Africa (permanent residence permit or work permit) attested by commissioner of OATHS or South African Police with valid date: dates valid for 90 days. 

8. Original NOC letter for leave from Employer/ School/ University stating the name, passport number of applicant(s) and duration of visit. Letter must have the physical address, as well as contact details of authorised signature’s name, designation and signature; 

9. Vaccination certificate, (yellow fever) If applicant will travel through or stay in yellow fever belt. For the latest Yellow Fever Policy please click here 

10.Valid flight ticket OR proof of reservation.

11.Two recent (not older than 30 days/1 month) passport size, ( 35mm x 45mm of the picture) photographs 

12.Marriage certificate, where applicable (For verification purpose applicant needs to carry the Original Marriage Certificate at the time of submission at VFS center) 

13.Copies of passport bio-data pages (photo page and address/parents page (INDIAN PASSPORTS) 

14.Original covering letter signed by the applicant stating the name, passport number of applicant(s) and duration of visit. Letter must have the physical address, as well as contact details of authorized signature’s name, designation and signature (should clearly mention who will bear the expenses of the trip)
